Nikau Foundation isn’t about one single cause; we’re about a place and its people. Together, we will ensure that our communities’ have the resources they need to thrive.
We are intending to set up an Upper Hutt Fund to benefit the area, forever, in 2021. If you would like to find out how you can support this Fund or if you would like to be a founding donor please get in touch.
Our impact in Upper Hutt
In 2019 we gave grants to a number of local charities including Titiro Whakamua- Looking Forward, People First and The Hearing Association.
The Upper Hutt Women’s Centre
The Upper Hutt Women’s Centre | Operational costs
The Upper Hutt Women's Centre promotes and encourages development and empowerment for all women in an educative and supportive environment. Community-led, they are always looking for new ways to help local women, and grow their offering for them.
With a $5,000 grant from Nikau Foundation, the Centre has been able to continue to grow its amazing team of women offering their time and skills to run their programme. From coffee clubs, singing groups, arts and crafts to wellbeing courses such as pilates, thai chi and yoga, the centre is a place to learn, engage and connect with other local women in their area.
