Other funders we represent

Some organisations and donors choose to work with us to leverage our community insight and connectedness. Together, we ensure that their generosity is having the maximum impact for our communities.

Tindall Foundation

We are the local donation manager for the Tindall Foundation. Led by the Foundation’s philanthropy strategy, grants are targeted towards helping youth, whānau/families, community and the environment.

Stephen and Margaret Tindall founded the Tindall Foundation in 1994. Today, they support over 700 organisations a year, giving annual donations of around $10 million. The idea was to offer a hand up, not a hand out, to families and communities, a philosophy that continues to this day.

The Tindall Foundation understand that people and communities generally know what works best for them, that’s why they work in partnership with funders, councils, government departments, iwi and philanthropic leaders to make the greatest difference.

Nikau Foundation is proud of it’s ongoing partnership with the Tindall Foundation built on strong values and high trust. By choosing us to distribute grants on their behalf, we can ensure that all Kiwis have the chance to achieve their full potential and contribute to a healthy, strong society.

Within the areas of youth, whānau/families, community and the environment, we look for the following values and qualities in the projects that we support:

“Community Foundations enable people to give back to their own community and support local projects. It is a great way for anyone who wants to make a positive change in their community’s future to get involved and show their generosity.”
